Vallisaari, 00190 Helsinki

The island of Vallisaari between Santahamina and Suomenlinna opened up to the public in May 2016. Formerly used by the Finnish Defence Forces, the island offers visitors the chance to enjoy its diverse flora and spectacular views, as well as its well preserved historic fortifications. Visitors at Vallisaari can use the islands' water points, dry toilets, picnic tables and during summer season also the excursion harbour, café and restaurant services and tour guide services. Accomodation is possible in Tentsiles by advance booking. Visitors are expected to stay on the marked trails, Alexander's tour (3km) and Kuninkaansaari Island tour (2,5km). A waterbus connection to Vallisaari is available in summer from the Market Square by Suomen Saaristokuljetus.
